The 18 Clubs of the 2026-27 Süper Lig

We brought together the 18 clubs competing in the 2026-27 Süper Lig season, ranging from historic Istanbul clubs founded as early as 1903 to sides that were promoted last season for the first time, or after years away from the top flight. The list spans a wide geography, representing many different regions of Turkey.

Established Clubs and New Arrivals

Alongside early-1900s Istanbul clubs such as Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, the list includes sides such as Amed Sportif Faaliyetler Kulübü and Çorum FK, which earned the right to compete in the Süper Lig for the first time in their history. Erzurumspor returned after five seasons away, while Kocaelispor came back after a long absence. This mix shows how the Süper Lig brings established and newly arrived clubs onto the same stage.

How We Compiled the List

All 18 clubs competing in the 2026-27 Süper Lig were included; none were highlighted or left out, in order to keep the list complete and neutral. Founding year, city and stadium details were confirmed through each club's official sources and verifiable references such as Wikipedia; championship counts are noted only where confirmed by a primary source.

A Quick Look at the Clubs

Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are known as Istanbul's most established clubs, while Trabzonspor holds a special place as the club that broke Istanbul's hold on the title, winning the Süper Lig seven times. Başakşehir reached the high point of its history with the 2019-20 championship. Anatolia is represented by clubs such as Alanyaspor, Konyaspor, Samsunspor and Çaykur Rizespor, while Ankara is represented by Gençlerbirliği, İzmir by Göztepe, Diyarbakır by Amed SFK, Gaziantep by Gaziantep FK and Kocaeli by Kocaelispor. Istanbul's district clubs Eyüpspor and Kasımpaşa also feature on the list.
